Kanalos - 2006
Kanalos
Kanalos. X. Arapogianni (ΛΗ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of a cluster of nine cist graves (six of which were for children) on top of a low mound, 2km west-southwest of the town of Gargaliani. The graves had been looted (apart from a few bones) and could not be dated. To the north, at a lower elevation, excavation revealed dense settlement remains dating to the end of the Middle Helladic/beginning of the Late Helladic period. Activity continued through to the Late Roman period. On the eastern side lay a Late Roman cistern (1.5 x 1.3m).
