AGIOS TAXIARCHES, Aiges - 2006

Agios Taxiarches, Aiges (property of V. and E. Makryonitou). E.-I. Kolia (Στ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of a Classical pithos burial on a plot just southwest of the archaeological site of Pyrgos. The 1.58m tall pithos, which was largely preserved, contained a contracted inhumation and a very few sherds. Retaining walls were visible on the surface of the site.
