Report
Skepasto, Xerokambos (property of Achaikes Proteines AE). G. Alexopoulou (Στ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of four pithos burials, closed with limestone slabs. They contained contracted inhumations without grave goods. Some 2m south of the pithoi was a wall, south of which was a layer of pebbles containing a handmade Protogeometric vessel (similar in form to an example from Gavala in Aetolia) and Geometric sherds.
On the neighbouring property (of the demos of Kalavryta) was an apsidal family tomb. While the burials had no goods, a quantity of Protogeometric-early Archaic sherds were collected, including kantharoi or skyphoi and conical vessel feet.
