Report
Argos, Parodos Papalexopoulou (property of K. Nikolopoulou). A. Banaka-Dimaki (Δ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of the walls of Hellenistic structures dug into Geometric fills. The varying orientation of the buildings indicates at least two construction phases. A two-roomed structure in the northwest corner of the plot belongs to the better-preserved phase; one room contained a clay structure within which were found pieces of brick, one or two sherds of a plate and a bronze coin.
Finds include loomweights, spools, relief bowls, bronze coins, Hellenistic domestic pottery, lachrymateria etc. A tile grave was found without goods, as well as two small pithoid vessels.
On the neighbouring property of Ch. Kotsianti, a section of Hellenistic wall was found, with a little Hellenistic pottery.
