Sur l’île d’Astypalaia, dans le village de Chora, V. Patsiada (XXIIe éphorie des antiquités préhistoriques et classiques) a mené en 2001 une fouille de sauvetage sur le terrain Papanikolaou, dans le secteur de Katsalo et a mis au jour 23 tombes et quelques bûchers.
