Aptera, west cemetery (Kelaidi property). V. Niniou-Kindeli (ΚΕ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of a densely-packed group of 40 graves (39 pits and a chamber tomb of the type common type at the site, with rock-cut walls and benches and a roof of stone slabs). Half of the graves were empty and no whole skeletons were found. The most common offerings were Early Hellenistic-Early Imperial lamps of various types: other finds include plain and black-glaze small skyphoi, a cup and an oinochoe, bronze and silver coins, an iron dagger, clay figurines, a bronze mirror and a silver ring with a stone depicting Tyche with a cornucopia. The pit graves are dated to the Hellenistic period and the chamber tomb to Early Roman.
