Dans la commune d’Atalanti, S. Dimaki (XIVe éphorie des antiquités préhistoriques et classiques) a effectué en 2001 une fouille de sauvetage sur le terrain G. Giannara (rue Pindarou), mettant au jour des vestiges de construction de l’époque romaine tardive.
On a principalement dégagé un mur d’une longueur de 7 m, orienté Nord-Ouest / Sud-Est, qui formait un angle vers l’Ouest. La construction en était faite de moellons, tuiles et blocs de poros remployés.
