Report
Leukas, Spasmeni Vrysi-Megas Vatos, Karyoti. G. Pliakou (ΙΒ' ΕΠΚΑ) reports on geophysical prospection (resistivity and magnetometry) over 13.5ha to determine the exact settlement area within the south wall. The survey spanned the area on either side of the Leukas-Nidri road, from the coastal plain to the foothills of the Koulmos hill. The survey supplemented the main rescue excavations in the area, and survey of visible remains. A dense settlement was revealed, with at least 5 parallel roads running northwest-southeast and water channels alongside them. The streets were between 3.5 and 4m wide, with settlement insulae ca.30m wide. This orthogonal planning was only observed in the northern part of the survey area, whereas the southern part produced indications of kilns and workshops.
