Report
Omorphi Ekklisia (property of A. Rizakis). E. Papastavrou (ΚΣτ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of 45 rock-cut tombs from the main cemetery in the area. Fourteen were underground chambers, entered via a shaft: one had three chambers and the remainder two. Two contained a limestone sarcophagus in one of the chambers (the base of a sarcophagus was found also in a third tomb). All had been robbed. In seven cases, the dividing wall between tombs had been removed. Grave goods date the tombs to the fifth century.
