GITANA - 2004

Gitana. The ΛΒ’ ΕΠΚΑ reports on rescue excavation in the exceptionally rich cemetery of Gitana, beside the modern Kalama dam. Noteworthy among the tombs discovered is a cist grave with a bench, in use from the third to the first centuries BC. It contained seven cremation burials either in ceramic vessels or stone containers, along with personal items such as vases, figurines and jewellery.
