Agia Paraskevi (Pevkakia), Junction of Mesogeion Avenue and Agias Theklas Street. D. N. Christodoulou (Β’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of a Roman building, of which only the north side is preserved (Fig. 1). A stone cistern (1.2 x 0.6m) was found, and to its south two lead pipes which run into the building. Finds include undecorated pottery (stamnoi, amphorae), glass, pithos and tile, three lamps, a head of a terracotta figurine, and one worn bronze coin. The building, of the second half of the third century AD, may be the lower part of a rectangular tower erected at the time of the construction of the Valerian Walls perhaps to protect the passage between Penteli and Hymettos.
