Report
Zouberi, Airforce Summer Resort. †M. Oikonomakou (Β’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of building remains at various points next to the shore, plus part of a cemetery.
Around the administration building, a short distance from the shore, lay part of a large cemetery of 37 tombs (Figs 1,2), mostly cremations, enchytrismoi or a combination of cremation and burial in pots, two tile graves, and a marble urn.
House 1: north of the cemetery was part of a four-roomed house (11 x 9.5m as preserved) below a layer of stones and tile. Finds include much domestic pottery.
House 2 (8.7 x 9m as preserved) lay a short distance from house 1, below a layer of stones and Laconian tiles (Fig. 3). Finds include an inscribed marble discus: Δικαῖος μ’ ἀνέθεκεν. The two buildings date to the late fourth-third century.
