Report

41 Dogani Street (O.T. 191, property of D. Stratioti). P. Avgerinou (Γ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on excavation of four tombs of the first half of the fifth century BC, all but one (3) oriented north-south.

1: a shelly limestone sarcophagus with two cover slabs contained no skeletal remains but a two-handled vase with lid;

2: a shelly limestone sarcophagus with two cover slabs contained one adult burial, supine with head to the south, and a black-figure lekythos;

3: a shelly limestone sarcophagus with two cover slabs contained the burial of a young person, supine with head to the east, a bronze mirror, a black-glaze kylix, three black-figure lekythoi, and a doll;

4: a shelly limestone sarcophagus with two cover slabs contained an adult burial, supine with head to south, a bronze mirror, an alabastron, and an oinochoe.
