Junction of Kassandras, Tzani and 80 Ieras Odou. Ch. Stoupa (Γ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on a 215m² excavation for the construction of underground tanks for a service station within this 2700m² plot, situated by the northern edge of the ancient Sacred Way (Fig. 1).
A poorly preserved wall of red conglomerate blocks oriented southwest-northeast was revealed to the east (5.9 long, 0.40 wide) (Fig. 2). Its lowest course was made of three worked limestone blocks. At the east side of the wall, a foundation ditch contained fourth-century BC sherds.
Classical ceramics from the eastern part of the plot included a few red-figure sherds of the fifth century BC, while the earliest find was a clay lamp of the second half of the sixth century. Other finds included eroded bronze coins, an iron arrowhead, and a few clay anthropomorphic clay figurines of the fifth century BC. The wall probably belongs to a tomb peribolos.
