Report
Syntagma Square. O. Zachariadou (Γ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on a small excavation undertaken after the completion of the technical works for the metro station, which revealed a branch of the Peisistratid aqueduct oriented south-north, cut deep into the rock (Figs 1,2). This consists of 21 sections of terracotta pipe with cleaning holes, linked with lead, and decorated with black bands.
To the east, another branch of the same aqueduct (consisting of three pipe sections) joined it in a T-junction.
