Athens, Monastiraki. Byzantine remains were uncovered during work in the basement of a Neoclassical building behind the church of Panagia Pantanassa on Monastiraki Square. The excavation of two post-Byzantine storage silos as well as a series of walls was inundated by water from the nearby Eridanos River.
