Zominthos. The 2010 excavation season was the last conducted under the direction of the late
Fig. 1). The second room from the east contained a rectangular hearth; the upper levels had pottery of the Classical, Hellenistic and Roman as well as Byzantine, Venetian and Ottoman periods. Below two of the rooms, Minoan layers of the First Palatial period contained pottery including a fruitstand and a cup. Trials to the west of rooms 13-15 and west of room 17 yielded Late Minoan pottery – conical cups, jugs, cooking pots and pithoi. Mycenaean sherds were present in the upper fill. Window-openings were found in the wall between rooms 14 and 15 (Fig. 2). Further walls indicate the existence of structures beyond rooms 13-15. (ASA).
