Report
An ancient architectural complex was also uncovered in recent rescue excavations carried out as part of the re-development of Vasilissis Olgas Avenue in central Athens. The Ministry of Culture reports that the complex contained a central courtyard and many rooms. It can be dated to the second century AD, with a second construction phase in the fourth century AD. Finds include floor mosaics, an altarpiece dedicated to Apollo from the first century AD, and at least 21 inscriptions and sculptures, which depict Athens, Aphrodite, Dionysus, and Pan, as well as satyrs and dancers.
