Report
Andravida. J. Rambach (for the Ζ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reviews the pottery assemblage retrieved from the spoil of illegal excavation for a new gymnasium in the area of Andravida. The main thousands of sherds collected, which had been dispersed widely onto local fields, indicate a site occupied in EHII, late EHIII, and MHI-III. The MH pottery includes many decorated finewares of high quality. Grey Minyan was very common, but incised ‘Adriatic’ ware almost absent. As at Olympia, dark burnished ware with incised and impressed Cetina-type decoration is represented, and incised decoration of this general type is also found on Grey Minyan and pale or orange burnished ware. Influence from the Tarxien culture of Malta is also noted.
