Prines
Prines - Agios Stefanos. Niki Tsatsaki (Ephorate of Antiquities of Rethymno) reports on the discovery of new archaeological sites in west Rethymno (Fig. 1,2).
Ceramics were found at this location, saying to the late Roman / early Byzantine periods. A wall was found which, once cleaned, yielded Venetian pottery. Architectural members (possibly including a column base) were found in the churchyard of Agios Stefanos, along with Byzantine pottery. On the opposite side of the hill, many Minoan sherds were found, mainly of the Middle Minoan period.
ADelt 70 (2015), Chr., 1273–6.
