Naupaktos by-pass. Ph. Saranti (then Στ' ΕΠΚΑ, now ΛΣτ' ΕΠΚΑ) reports the results of excavation for the construction of two sections of the by-pass, from Plataniti-Cheimarro Vareias to the Thermon junction and from the Thermon to the Ska junction. Work focused on the former section, which was almost completed in 2000.
X.Y. 4 +650: part of a kiln (1.9m x 3.75m, 2.1m preserved height) on the west side of the road, stomion to the east, with a firing chamber built of clay. No pottery was found around the kiln, but tiles were found 3m to the south.
At Kato Lefka and Mandres Kastrakiou, remains will be further investigated by the 8th EBA.
