W. K. Pritchett, dans Sludies in Ancient Greek Topography 8 (1992), présente les résultats de ses recherches topographiques sur des sites connus du Nord-Est de l'Acarnanie (Dérion, Thyrreion, Euripos, Échinos, Koronta, Tyrbeion ou Torybeia, Lykoniko, Pélégriniatsa) et réexamine la datation des sites fortifiés d'Acarnanie : Oiniadai, Stratos, Palaiomanina, Karvassaras.
On signale en outre une bibliographie consacrée à l'Acarnanie en particulier et d'autres régions, dans Bibliographie über Akarnanien und angrenzende Gebiete in der Antike (1993).
