On signale l'existence, sur un plateau cerné sur trois côtés par l'Aôos, d'un site fortifié de 1400 x 700 m environ, qui doit vraisemblablement être identifié comme un fortin romain surveillant le passage par le Pinde, possible voie de communication entre l'Épire et la Macédoine.
