Une fouille de sauvetage menée dans le village depuis 1987 a fourni une abondante collection de fibules et d'aiguilles en os (milieu du IIe-milieu du IVe s. ap. J.-C.) : la richesse typologique atteste sans doute, d'après E. Gavrilaki-Nikoloudaki et N. Karamaliki, Κρητική Εστία 3 (1989-1990), p. 119-154, l'existence d'un atelier local.
