Au lieu-dit Kastro, le nettoyage d'un tronçon du rempart extérieur, en 1989, a amené la découverte d'une tour intérieure à peu près rectangulaire ; il est difficile d'en préciser la chronologie, mais on suppose que le village fut fortifié sous Antigone Gonatas et détruit au début du IIe s. av. J.-C., probablement après la bataille de Pydna (168 av. J.-C.).
