Une prospection menée, en 1989, par la XIIIe Éphorie des Antiquités préhistoriques et classiques en collaboration avec l'École italienne, a permis de localiser un site néolithique sur la colline située à l'extrémité Sud du village, et un fortin d'époque classique ou hellénistique sur la butte de Lakka.
