En 1993, deux pithoi funéraires et une tombe à tuiles contenant un petit lécythe ont été découverts sur une petite colline, à la faveur de la construction d'une route. La grande quantité de tuiles, de tessons et de fragments architectoniques en poros épars dans la région témoigne de l'existence d'une vaste nécropole au Nord du Pénée.
