Marathia, Thermo. Sector K21 / 82-83. Maria Gatsi (ΛΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on discoveries made during work on the local irrigation network.
Excavation of a Hellenistic / Roman burial enclosure first investigated in 2006 was completed (Fig. 1,2,3). The lower level of the excavation also revealed a hitherto unknown prehistoric settlement, of which the remains of several buildings have been excavated (Fig. 4). Pottery found at the excava-tion was locally made and dates to the Middle Helladic and Late Helladic periods.
