Property of K. and D. Chalazia, near Nea Idragogeia, Messolongi. Maria Gatsi (ΛΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on cleaning and exposing of sections of the ancient fortification wall.

A rectangular tower was investigated in this area (Fig. 1 Fig. 2, Fig. 3). Its S side has length 6.50m, and the E side 4.60m. Many large bricks had fallen around the structure. In the NE of the tower, it is likely that there was a gate. Also at this property, in the olive grove, many foundations of ancient buildings were recorded. Pottery of the late Classical and Hellenistic periods was collected. An ancient quarry was visible near this property (Fig. 4).
