Description
Salamis, 16 Perikleous Street. Triadafyllia Kattoula (ΚΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on discoveries made during the construction of the city’s new sewer network.
At this site a pit burial was discovered (Fig. 1). Nine complete vessels were recovered (alabastra, small jugs, and askoi), a figurine of a seated woman, a stone bead, and bronze jewelry. Fragments from a skull were found to the W end of the grave, suggesting an orientation of EW. The grave goods date this grave to the early Mycenaean period.
