Description
Salamis, 5-7 Damala Street. Triadafyllia Kattoula (ΚΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on discoveries unearthed during works undertaken for the construction project of Salamis’ sewage treatment network. In this area a sarcophagus was found measuring 2.24 x 0.76 x 0.57 m and oriented EW. The interior of the tomb contained the skeleton of a man measuring 1.66m in height with his head to E, an aryballoid lekythos, an alabaster, iron pieces, part of an iron ring, and a bronze ring. The finds help date the grave to the end of the 5th or start of the 4th century BC.
