Description
Piraeus, 58 Mpotsari St. (property of I., G. and E. Galaiou). K. Axioti (ΚΣΤ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the discovery of an early 3rd c. B.C. building with an irregular architectural plan which does not conform to the Hippodamian grid plan (Fig 1). The building consists of two rows of adjoining room and a hallway which run alongside its west part. Two of these rooms form the façade of the building. The smaller of these is interpreted as a workshop, since it accommodated three tubs and a drain. Only traces of the floors of the rooms survive.
E. Delekari and E. Gabriel supervised the excavation under the direction of K. Axioti.
