Description
Patras, 65 Agiou Georgiou Street. M. Petropoulos (Στ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of further Roman house and retaining walls and drainage channels, with, in addition to Roman pottery, Byzantine sherds including glazed wares. The courtyard of the demolished house at 65 Agiou Georgiou Street contained two pieces of ionic column bases and part of an unfluted column, which were probably collected from elsewhere. The area lies at the base of the Brephokomeiou or Sakketou hill, between the Roman Odeion in Agios Georgios square and the stepped Agiou Nikolaou Street.
