Description
Fari Forada, Sidonia (Mitsopoulou property). E. Banou (ΚΓ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of two narrow, possibly retaining walls, Middle Minoan pottery, and stone grinders. The majority of the pottery was coarseware (storage vessels and cooking pots): fineware included a cup, tumblers and part of a Middle Minoan I handmade cup. The existence of similar architecture of the same date on the beach is taken to indicate the extent of the settlement southwards, while further to the north only a clear layer of sand was found.
Minoan walls were found on the Strataki property: most of the pottery here is Neopalatial, but there was also later Bronze Age, especially Late Minoan IIIA1, material.
