Dans la région d’Avlonari, à l’intérieur du site archéologique de Palaiokastri, la XIe éphorie des antiquités préhistoriques et classiques a fouillé sept tombes à ciste découvertes à l’occasion de la construction d’une route.
Les tombes, pour la plupart détruites, étaient orientées Est-Ouest et comportaient des os appartenant à des inhumations multiples, probablement de l’époque byzantine.
