Description
Chatzigiorgi, Photeino. A. Angeli (ΙΒ' ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of a cist tomb (badly damaged by modern construction) ca 700m southwest of the modern cemetery of Photeino. The grave was originally covered with three slabs of local schist. The remains of one burial were observed, with a second reported as visible when the tomb was first opened before the official autopsy: grave goods comprised a black-glaze lamp and kyathos of the final quarter of the fourth century. No further tombs or other remains were observed in the area, although a local resident handed over a conical loomweight with a stamped ray symbol on the base found at Plygouria.
