PHAISTOS SURVEY - 2011

Phaistos Survey. F. Longo (Salerno/SAIA) reports on the fifth and final season of survey. On the highest part of the Palace ridge (Christos Effendi), work focused on the area outside the Hellenistic walls which was repeatedly occupied from Minoan to Hellenistic times, but mostly in prehistoric times.

Georeferencing of many monuments was undertaken, including Kalyvia Liliana, Roman tombs and the tholoi of Mylona Lakko and Kamilari, structures dug by the Archaeological Service at Seli, and others on a hill to the southwest of Ag. Ioannis. Geomorphological studies also were undertaken.
