Description
Boriza. Marathonos Street (Katsagoni plot). †M. Oikonomakou (Β’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on discoveries made in the south and east foothills of Kotroni and Agriliki during the widening of this street (Fig. 1). Neolithic and Early Helladic settlement remains were similar to those previously found on a neighbouring plot to the east. Successive floor levels were uncovered, with animal bones, birds and shells, ceramics and tools, as well as remains of standing buildings, stone bases for a mud brick superstructure, hearths or kilns, and post holes (Figs 2,3). The ceramics collected were mostly black burnished ware, and open vessels such as fruit stands.
