Description
Phratti Street. Th. Iliopoulos (Γ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports on the excavation of a trench for drainage works between Webster and Propylaion streets. At Phratti 13, a Roman wall (0.6m wide, 13m long) was interrupted at one point by a doorway, and at another by walls probably from a bath. Outside Phratti 14 was a brick apse from the same building which is probably related to the section of a Late Roman building with mosaic floor found previously at the junction of Webster and Phratti. The associated pipes were found within a second parallel trench, and between them two parallel, evidently Classical, limestone walls.
