Marathon. Brexiza, the Egyptian sanctuary. In 2009, excavations to the southwest of the complex, a raised area noted on a plan of Fauvel in 1792, brought to light a new structure with strong walls defining a series of spaces. One of these areas was probably a cistern lined with hydraulic cement; to the west were the remains of a semicircular exedra and marble architectural fragments (Figs 1-9).
