Alcazar. At the Venizelos street station, a stoa has been located which joins the Bezesten market with the Hamza Bei temenos (the Alcazar). A study (led by E. Marki of the 9th EBA) of remains of an ECh church below the Alcazar, notes 16 columns and capitals of the L5th−6th Ct AD reused in the later temenos. The decision to house portable finds and selected architectural features from the metro excavations in a new museum in the Alcazar is widely reported.
