Notice
Sikyon. I. Lolos (ASA) reports on excavations southeast and northwest of the agora.

South of the stoa, beyond the area already excavated, a rectangular, almost square building was uncovered belonging to the early Roman period, in which, in late antiquity, industrial activity was established, on the basis of the discovery of presses, a cistern, as well as a small ceramic kiln, part of whose production was domestic vessels, cups and jugs (Fig. 1).

Southeast of the stoa, and east of the above mentioned, investigation continued of a second stoa, perpendicular to the large Hellenistic stoa (Fig. 2).  Its back wall, its width (almost 4 m.) and a small part of its paved floor were uncovered.  Its construction was placed in the early Roman period.

North of the palaestra, where a small temple had already been uncovered, a ceramic deposit was investigated, comprising mostly kantharoi and skyphoi, as well as animal bones, which the excavator characterises as remains of feasts and ritual acts.  Part of a peribolos was found in the area between the palaestra and the temple.  Further north of the palaestra investigation continued of a large building, probably a late Roman villa, on the basis of the arrangement of rooms and its size.  It was built out of rectangular stone blocks which belonged to older public buildings that had been abandoned.
