Description
Vasara. E. Zavvou (formerly Ε’ ΕΠΚΑ, now Epigraphical Museum) discusses a Middle Helladic cist tomb at a site on the mountain route into the Kynouria and the Argolid which has produced evidence of occupation from the Early Helladic to Byzantine periods. The tomb was exposed following subsidence of the east bank of the Kamari ravine, south of the church of the Zoodochos Pigi. The tomb walls were lined with stone slabs. A large quantity of Middle Helladic pottery was collected from subsidence debris (Fig. 1), including matt-painted ware and sherds of kantharoi in black tempered fabric and in grey Minyan ware (possibly imported). Pithos sherds were also found, some with mastoid decoration.
