Description
Kato Achaia, 18 Pausaniou Street (Drakouli property). A. Vasilogamvrou (Στ’ ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of Hellenistic settlement remains, plus Classical pottery reflecting earlier occupation. A cement-lined water channel crossed a house wall, linking the two features in the same occupation phase. On the south side of the plot was part of a stepped construction (three upper brick levels on a stone foundation) bounded on the west side by a rough wall, which was built on a Classical deposit and in turn covered by a destruction layer – a deposit of Hellenistic pottery to the west is in the same stratigraphical horizon as the brick structure. A further deposit of Classical pottery extended into the southeast corner of the plot.
