Description
Chania Gavrolimnis. Ph. Saranti (then Στ' ΕΠΚΑ, now ΛΣτ' ΕΠΚΑ) reports the discovery of at least four well-preserved buildings from a Middle Helladic to Late Helladic settlement in the course of excavation for the new town hall building (Fig. 1). The site lies on the southern slope of the Tapia hill, in the northwestern part of Chania: traces of ancient buildings destroyed by modern construction have also been noted on the eastern slope and close to the top of the hill. Excavation was scheduled to continue.
